The Valideo Millésime 2011 has arrived! Spread the word!
Like all good things, made to be improved permanently, the Valideo system is regularly updated and the important updates are distinguished by “Millésimes”.
After the first version “New office buildings” in 2008 and then the Millésime 2010 with an extension towards residential buildings, the teams from SECO have continued, without any external contribution, the improvement of the attestation system on two levels: the content and the form.
For the content of each theme and each category, the “referents” have been able to take into account the feedback of the assessors: “the actual conditions on site”, the only real truth.
The “referents” are the experts that have the most specific knowledge on the different subjects discussed in the reference guide, ranging from specialists in equipment to specialists in structure and architects, with categories such as integration on site, adaptability, serviceability and mobility, which give an added value to Valideo. The assessors have received a training on all the categories as a result of which they can use their knowhow to assess the project during the entire development phase and they can point out possible improvements which can be enriching for the construction team.
What’s more, the referents regularly meet the assessors to find a balance between the feedback from the site and the subjects that seem interesting to introduce. This permanent proximity between the operations on site and the technical knowhow is one of the assets of the Valideo system.
With regard to the form, a lot of work was done, in correlation with the adaptations to the content, to be able to offer an increasingly user-friendly instrument. This concerns mainly the perfectly bilingual analysis tables, an EXCEL file per theme, which are as self-supporting as possible, as a result of which the evaluation is automated to the maximum and the results are increasingly accurate. This has led to the creation of the INDICATOR. The refinement of the assessor guides by the referents has completed the work on Millésime 2011.
The four scientific experts (Pr. H. HENS, A. DEHERDE, F. SCHOLZEN and JJ. SCHEUREN), consulted in June 2011, were unanimous: this Millésime reaches a remarkable level. They particularly appreciated the link with the BREEAM criteria, which facilitated the evaluation according to this system. This clearly shows the added value Valideo gives, such as an assessment of the “adaptability of a building” and of the protection the buildings gives against crime (section SEC 4.4 “Prevention of crime”), but one can also notice the great subtleties to ensure both the visual and the hygrothermal or acoustic comfort etc.
During the General Advisory Committee of the 14th of September 2011, a brief presentation about the Millésime 2011, including the evaluation of the experts, was given.
In short, there is room for a Millésime 2012…
Does this mean that this Millésime is already a classified grand cru?
